Leaf + Pod
The shell of this piece is forged from 1/4 inch round stock steel with copper and handmade abaca paper leaves twisting open. An abstract form inspired by the many ways seeds propagate and musings on milkweed pods, pine cones, acorns and maple “helicopters.” A shell that carries, protects and then opens to release a new beginning.
